Web Development
Softening stigma: Abe Shapiro is an IU senior with autism. He’s working to make campus more inclusive of people with neurodevelopmental disorders. | Indiana Daily Student, February 2020
First place in Best Multimedia Package (2020 Apple Awards, College Media Association). Second place in Multimedia Feature Story of the Year (2020, Associated Collegiate Press).
This story is the product of a team reporting project in which I served as a multimedia reporter and worked with a writer and photographer for six months. As the multimedia reporter, one of my main responsibilities was determining how the story and its multiple elements would appear on the web. We sorted through hundreds of photos and together chose which to include in the web buildout. I worked with my teammates to determine the placement of multimedia, and I coded a template, created by another IDS staffer, to create a unique buildout for the story and its many elements.
